Traffic Wardens No Longer

Today in Leeds and indeed I think the whole of Yorkshire the Traffic Warden has disappeared.

This photo shows a civil enforement officer giving a parking ticket to a car on Vicar Lane in Leeds city centre. I have little sympathy with the driver of this car, if there were no rules there would be cars parked badly all over the city.

In truth I did once get a ticket, quite recently, for parking in permit bay. I had a permit and it was on the dash clearly visible from the pavement. I wrote in objecting and it was quashed and so it should have been I think enforecement person needed to get eyesight test.

Most often these days I tend to get into Leeds city centre on the train, then I have no problem parking.
